I'm back home: Azkadenya's new experience رجعت لبيتي: تجربة أزكدنيا جديدة
Azkadenya has become a home for me, a place I'm always to go back to, get cozy, & enjoy my favorite dishes. This time, with a new interior, I am trying all-new dishes by Azkadenya's new menu. I love a meal full of appetizers, & Azkadenya does it well for me! We went with one of the new salads; rocket, quinoa, tomatoes, & shanklish. Four ingredients, yet no enough words can describe how perfectly they go together. OF COURSE we are having Azkadenya's hummus. My love for their hummus is already established, but if you have the guts, get this red chilli hummus. The real spice is here!
Mama ghanoush? Because only here you'd find not-your-typical baba ghanoush with more crunch!
أزكدنيا صار زي بيتي، مكان دايماً بروحلو، باخد راحتي، وباكل أكلي المفضل. هالمرة، مع تصميمه الداخلي الجديد، رح أجرب الأطباق الجديدة في المنيو. وجبتي المفضلة هي الوجبة يلي كلها مقبلات وأزكدنيا هو المكان المطلوب. بدأنا بوحدة من السلطات الجديدة؛ جرجير، كينوا، بندورة، وشنكليش. أربع مكونات، بس ما في كلمات كافية توصف تناغمهم. أكيد بدنا نطلب حمص أزكدنيا. حبّي لحمص أزكدنيا صار معروف، بس إذا عندكم الجرآة، أطلبوا حمص الفلفل الحار الجديد. الحرّ الحقيقي هون!
ماما غنوج؟ لأنه بس هون رح تلاقي البابا غنوج بطريقة غير اعتيادية ومع قرمشة أكثر.
Pesto potato cubes; not the biggest potato fan but pesto is my weakness. I am glad we got it. Perfectly baked potato cubes massaged in house-made pesto finished with more pine nuts.
Chicken & pistachio? In a ball? I was honestly reluctant but Azkadenya never lets me down. Open it, add the side yogurt sauce, analyze & understand the sea of flavors in your mouth.
مكعبات البطاطا بالبيستو؛ مش من معجبين البطاطا بس البيستو نقطة ضعفي، ومبسوطة إني طلبتها. مكعبات البطاطا مشوية مدللة ببيستو طازج وكمان صنوبر.
دجاج وفستق حلبي؟ على شكل كرات؟ صراحة كنت مترددة بس أزكدنيا ولا مرة بخذلني. نفتحها، نضيف صلصة اللبن، نحلل ونفهم بحر من النكهات.
I thought my mom and I made the best musakhan rolls, but Azkadenya is competing. These rolls definitely made my meal! Dipped in some yogurt, musakhan never tasted this good.
Sajjyeh is the newest section in the menu. Prepared in a wok-like pan over a bonfire, Azkadenya got you the experience to your table. We chose the vegetable & chicken sajjyeh & after a while of trying to get the secret ingredient elevating the dish, Hanna admitted, bell pepper molasses. Because it's home, we tried one of the tabkhat (homemade meals)- wara'a & kusa (stuffed vine leaves and zucchinni). Just like home; the pot, the flavor, the love.
كنت بفكر أنا وأمي بنعمل أزكى مسخن رول بس أزكدنيا صار ينافسنا. الرولات أكيد خلت وجبتي أزكى! بنغمسها باللبن، المسخن عمره ما كان زاكي هيك.
الصاجيات هي جزء جديد في المنيو. محضرة بمقلاة زي الووك على شعلة بالعادة، أزكدنيا خلوا التجربة على طاولتك. اخترنا صاجية الدجاج والخضراوات وبعد فترة وأنا بحاول أعرف المكون الغير عادي، حنا اعترف، أنه دبس الفلفل.
ولأنه زي البيت، جربنا وحدة من الطبخات- ورق عنب وكوسا. زي البيت بالزبط؛ الطنجرة، الطعم، الحب.
Dessert had to fit! Two mind-blowing items all with the sunset:
Sticky date pudding- I've tried it around the world, but this was made my way! Perfectly, not-too-much sweet with the perfect date cake. They had to stop me.
Pistachio kunafeh- this is an absolute INVENTION! Kunafeh, pistachio, and arabic icecream merged into a symphony. WORD.
Home is the place you'll always be happy & loved regardless how long you've been away. Azkadenya knows how to do it simple, smart, & with love - just like home.

لازم يكون في مكان للتحلاية! طبقين خرافيين مع غروب الشمس:
بودينغ التمر- جربته في كتير أماكن، بس في أزكدنيا عملوا زي ما بحب! حلاوته مثالية وكعكة التمر لا تقاوم، كان لازم يوقفوني.
كنافة الفستق الحلبي-هاي لحالها اختراع! كنافة، فستق حلبي، وبوظة عربية عاملين سمفونية. ما ضل كلام.
البيت هو المكان يلي دايما بسعدك وبحبك مهما غبت عنه. أزكدنيا بعرفوا كيف يعملوا كل شيء ببساطة، بذكاء، وبحب-زي البيت بالزبط.
