I think I am starting a food blog
I have no idea how bloggers start their blog's entries especially if it's their first one.
I was always taught in school that you should start with a 'hook' to catch the readers attention and this is definitely the worse hook anyone can use.
Anyways, let's get to the center of the bun! This is a food blog that will feature my amateur, 'not-all-the-time' healthy recipes accompanied with my amateur pictures. I will try to have more food, less talking and I might talk about other things than food.
The blog entries will be in both Arabic and English. I want everyone to learn about my Palestinian culture and food and I want my people to enjoy it as well.
Maybe I should introduce myself?
My name is Diala Shaheen and I am a second year undergraduate student studying Food, Nutrition, and Health in the University of British Columbia. I am a proud Palestinian living currently in Vancouver, Canada.
Food is one of the things I am passionate about since a young age. It all started with the cupcake baking in 7th grade and my mom kicking me out of the kitchen, to improvising recipes to feed my hungry self after a 5 p.m. class on a rough Tuesday.
My passion for food also encouraged me to choose my major related to human nutrition so I can make food, and make it healthy. I am not a big fan of red meat and had several attempts to go vegetarian. I couldn't. I love chicken and I cannot NOT eat it. Come on, who can resist a creamy, steam-hot chicken pot pie?
Anyways, my point is, my recipes will try to have as little meat as possible and I hope I will prove we can enjoy our greens deliciously.
I think this is enough for an introduction, again less talking more food starting next time! I will finish my entry by sharing some of my amateur baking attempts with all the cool effects I thought made the photos look professional.
Stay tuned!
